Mumbai: Temples of Constitution will be established in all 419 government Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) and 163 government technical schools in Maharashtra. These Temples of Democracy will be inaugurated online on August 15, this was disclosed by Minister for Skills, Employment, Entrepreneurship and Innovation, Mangal Prabhat Lodha at the Maharashtra State Skill University.
“True teachings of social justice are derived from the Constitution of India, which is why we have decided to establish Temples of Constitution. Our aim is to make students understand the significance of the Constitution. These temples will empower students and shape their thoughts. The teachings of Bharat Ratna Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar will be revered here. A skilled youngster with the right thoughts has the strength to achieve progress for themselves, their family, and the country. Therefore, we are striving to create a generation with ethical values and employable skills,” said Lodha.
June 26 is celebrated as Social Justice Day across Maharashtra. Taking advantage of this day, Lodha disclosed that it was decided to establish ‘Temples of Constitution’ to impart the true teachings of social justice to students. These sacred structures will be built within the premises of industrial training institutes and government technical schools. Various programs will be organized here for students once a month.
Workshops will be conducted to educate students about the provisions of the Indian Constitution. Campaigns will be organized to raise awareness about constitutional rights and duties, especially among marginalized communities. Seminars, discussions, and debate competitions on topics such as constitutional issues, amendments, and the role of the Constitution in contemporary society will be held. Legal assistance and support will be provided to students interested in understanding or utilizing their constitutional rights.
Essay competitions and related events will be organized to ensure a deep understanding of the constitution. Books, articles, and other materials on various aspects of the Constitution will be made available to enhance students’ knowledge. Programs will be organized on significant days like Constitution Day and Republic Day.
Minister Lodha has also invited suggestions from citizens regarding the Temples of Constitution and the activities to be organized. Citizens can send their suggestions to ceo@mssds.in.
