In Telangana, nine persons, including six women died and 16 others were injured when the vehicle they were traveling in collided with a lorry in Kamareddy district. The mishap occurred in Yellareddy Mandal when the driver of the four-wheeler collided with a truck coming in the opposite direction. Police, two including the driver died on the spot while three others died on the way to the hospital. Two persons died in Nizamabad district hospital while two more succumbed to injuries in Banswada hospital. The investigation is still underway.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed distress about the loss of lives due to an accident in Kamareddy district of Telangana. In a tweet, Mr Modi expressed condolences to the bereaved families and prayed for the injured. He said, two lakh rupees each from Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund would be given to the next of kin of the deceased. The Prime Minister said, the injured would be given 50 thousand rupees.
