Tejasvi Surya Assures Energy Security Amid Fuel Concerns

Amid concerns over fuel availability and rising energy challenges, BJP MP Tejasvi Surya assured citizens that the government is prioritising energy security and domestic fuel supply.

Speaking on the issue, Surya said that while some challenges exist, the government is actively working to ensure uninterrupted energy availability for the country.

Government Focus on Energy Security
Surya referred to assurances given by senior ministers in Parliament and stressed that India’s energy stability remains the foremost priority for the government.

He noted that S. Jaishankar had addressed the matter earlier in the House, while the Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister has repeatedly emphasised that the government is closely monitoring the situation.

According to Surya, the administration is determined to ensure that citizens do not face major disruptions in fuel availability.

Priority to Domestic Consumption
Highlighting the government’s approach, the Bengaluru South MP said domestic consumption would be given the highest priority in the current situation.

“There are some challenges, but like the External Affairs Minister assured the House yesterday and the Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister has been repeatedly assuring, the energy security of the country is the foremost priority for the government,” Surya said.
He added that the authorities are focused on ensuring sufficient fuel for everyday needs.

Special Assurance for Karnataka Businesses
Surya also addressed concerns raised by businesses in Karnataka, particularly the hospitality sector.

The MP said hoteliers and commercial establishments were worried about possible shortages of cooking gas and other fuel supplies. However, he assured them that the government is committed to maintaining adequate supply.

“I would like to assure the people of Karnataka, especially the hoteliers, that the priority right now will be to address domestic consumption of people as well as take care of CNG and LNG needs of the country,” he said.

CNG and LNG Supply Under Watch
The government is closely monitoring the availability of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) and Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG), which are crucial for transportation, industries, and restaurants.

Officials have reiterated that ensuring smooth supply chains and maintaining energy reserves remain central to India’s energy strategy.

The statement comes at a time when global energy markets remain volatile, prompting governments around the world to strengthen domestic energy security measures.
