Srinagar: Under the special drive to keep the campuses and general area clean, 57 Battalion of the Border Security Force (BSF) under supervision of Sector Head Quarter BSF Kupwara carried out a cleanliness drive at Handwara BSF campus.
The two weeks cleanliness drive known as “Swachhata Pakhwada” was carried out under supervision of A K Mishra, officiating Commandant and all troops under Subhedar Major Shailesh Pratap Singh actively participated to clean the Handwara campus area between SP Office to Government Degree College, Handwara. During this drive BSF troops, besides cleaning its own campus also carried out cleanliness
activities.
A Swachhata Pledge has been taken by all available Officers, Sub Officers and Jawans to keep the area free from all type of pollution, all type of plastic waste cum garbage collected from the campus near vicinity area of THQ Handwara as well as Coy location at Sonarwari and Bandipora, Shramdaan Parades and special cleanness drives have been carried out and approx. 300 saplings of Deodar trees were also planted to clean air pollution at Handwara campus.
At the end of the “Swachhata Pakhwada” drive A K Mishra, officiating Commandant motivated all troops to keep the Swachhata Pakhwada Programme active ahead and avoid use of single use plastic bags for any purpose in near future.
