New Delhi: The Supreme Court adjourned the hearing of a plea filed by Gitanjali Angmo, wife of climate activist Sonam Wangchuk, challenging his detention under the National Security Act (NSA) and seeking his release.

The matter was postponed after senior advocate Kapil Sibal, representing Angmo, informed the Court that his client intends to amend her petition. No further arguments were heard, and the case has now been scheduled for October 29.

Wangchuk, known for his environmental and social activism, has been in detention under the NSA, prompting concerns from activists and civil society groups over the use of the law. The Supreme Court’s upcoming hearing will examine the legal grounds for his detention and any amendments proposed in the petition.
