New Delhi: Congress Parliamentary Party Chairperson Sonia Gandhi was discharged from Sir Ganga Ram Hospital on Friday after being admitted for stomach-related issues. The senior Congress leader underwent a routine check-up and has now returned home.
Gandhi, who turned 78 in December 2024, was last seen in Rajya Sabha during the Budget session of Parliament. During her speech, she raised concerns over the four-year delay in conducting the national census, stating that it is unlikely to take place this year as well.
Highlighting the significance of the National Food Security Act (NFSA) introduced by the UPA government in 2013, Gandhi emphasized its role in ensuring food security for 140 crore Indians, especially during the Covid-19 crisis. She also pointed out that the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana (PMGKAY) is based on this legislation.
