Over 82,000 names deleted during verification; claims and objections invited until September 30
Sindhudurg: The draft electoral roll for Sindhudurg district under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR-2026) has been published, with the district administration reporting a little over 6.05 lakh registered voters across 921 polling stations.
According to District Election Officer and Collector Trupti Dhodmise, physical verification of electoral roll entries was undertaken as part of the revision exercise.
The draft roll includes 3,05,756 male voters and 2,99,743 female voters. The administration said more than 82,000 entries from the earlier electoral roll had been deleted following verification. The deletions include names of deceased voters, people who have permanently migrated, duplicate entries and voters found ineligible or untraceable for other reasons.
Constituency-Wise Voter Strength
Among the three Assembly constituencies in the district, Kankavli has 2,09,242 voters across 332 polling stations, while Kudal has 1,91,846 voters across 279 polling stations. Sawantwadi has 2,04,411 voters across 310 polling stations.
Together, the three constituencies account for 921 polling stations across Sindhudurg. Collector Dhodmise appealed to voters to check their names, addresses and other particulars in the draft electoral roll and submit claims or objections if any discrepancy is found.
Claims and Objections Till September 30
Citizens can submit claims and objections until September 30, 2026. The hearing and disposal of claims and objections is scheduled to be completed by October 29, while the final electoral roll is expected to be published on November 4, 2026. Voters can verify their details through Election Commission and district administration platforms or by visiting their respective polling stations.

The constituency totals themselves add up correctly to 6,05,499, so my suspicion is that the earlier voter total or deletion total/breakup contains the typo, not the final draft figure.
