In the wake of the shocking incident in Ulhasnagar where BJP MLA Ganpat Gaikwad allegedly shot Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) leader Mahesh Gaikwad, Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut has launched scathing criticism against Chief Minister Shinde, holding him accountable for the escalating violence and criminal activities in Maharashtra.

Raut, in a media interaction, didn’t mince his words as he accused Chief Minister Shinde of fostering an environment conducive to the proliferation of gangsters and criminals. Referring to the firing incident as a direct consequence of Shinde’s rule, Raut emphasized that such incidents exemplify the rule of mafia and goons under the current administration.

“The rule of mafia and goons has been going on in Maharashtra for one and a half years,” Raut asserted. He pointed out the alleged nexus between the government and criminal elements, highlighting instances where criminals were reportedly bailed out to influence elections. Raut even claimed to possess evidence of ministers attempting to secure bail for notorious criminals in Pune.

Drawing attention to the gravity of the situation, Raut questioned the absence of the Home Minister and criticized the selective application of justice, insinuating that political affiliations dictated the handling of criminal cases. He lambasted the BJP for their perceived inaction and urged for accountability and justice in the face of rampant criminal activities.

Furthermore, Raut highlighted the plight of Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Rajan Salvi and his family, contrasting their situation with the alleged leniency shown towards the perpetrators of the Ulhasnagar firing. He underscored the need for impartiality and fairness in dispensing justice, lamenting the deterioration of law and order under the current administration.

In his impassioned address, Raut urged for a concerted effort to restore the rule of law and uphold the principles of justice and democracy. He called upon the opposition to hold the government accountable and demanded transparency in the investigation of criminal cases.

As the political discourse intensifies in the aftermath of the Ulhasnagar incident, Sanjay Raut’s outspoken condemnation serves as a stark reminder of the challenges facing Maharashtra’s governance and the imperative for decisive action to address the underlying issues plaguing the state.
