Patna: In response to ongoing cold weather conditions, schools in Patna up to class 8 have reopened today, January 20, after being closed for several days. The Patna district administration had initially announced the closure of schools up to class 8 until January 11, and later extended it until January 18. However, with the situation improving, the schools have resumed classes with revised timings.
As per the order issued by District Magistrate Dr. Chandrashekhar Singh on Sunday evening, schools are now operational from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM. The new timings are a precautionary measure to protect children from the cold, particularly in the mornings and evenings when the temperatures are lowest.
The order also specifies that no classes should be conducted before 9:00 AM or after 3:30 PM. School management has been directed to adjust the schedule of educational activities accordingly. However, special classes and examinations related to pre-board or board exams have been exempted from this order.
The order will remain in effect until January 25, 2025, and is aimed at ensuring the health and safety of students during the ongoing cold wave in the region.
