New Delhi: In a major relief for YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia, the Supreme Court has granted him permission to resume his popular podcast, The Ranveer Show, amid the ongoing India’s Got Latent controversy. The apex court took note of his emotional plea, where he described the podcast as his “only source of livelihood,” and acknowledged that the livelihoods of 280 employees were also at stake.
During Monday’s hearing, Ranveer Allahbadia urged the court to allow him to continue airing his podcast, emphasizing its financial importance. After reviewing his petition, the SC ruled in his favor but imposed strict conditions, stating that he must maintain “decency” and “desired standards of morality” in his content.
While delivering the order, the bench asserted that the content must be suitable for all age groups and must adhere to ethical broadcasting norms. This decision comes amidst growing concerns over digital content moderation, with India’s Got Latent sparking debates on artistic freedom versus responsible content creation.
