In a sharp critique of the Shinde government, Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut has expressed his disdain for the recent decision to grant cows the status of “Rajmata” in Maharashtra. Raut’s comments come in response to the government’s move, which he believes is unnecessary, stating, “We all worship cows. There is no need to issue a government order for that.”

Raut did not hold back in his assessment of the current administration, likening its intellect to that of a “bull.” He remarked, “The present government is the son of a bull; their father is a bull, since the father of this government is a bull, their intelligence is also that of a bull.” He accused the government of being comprised of individuals with “bull intelligence,” questioning their commitment to genuine issues concerning cow welfare.

Continuing his tirade, Raut stated that if freedom fighter Vinayak Damodar Savarkar were alive today, he would have reacted vehemently to the government’s proclamations about cow status. He urged those in power to first understand Savarkar’s views on the matter before invoking his name. “If Savarkar was there now, he would have put it under his ear,” Raut asserted, highlighting a disconnect between the government’s actions and the principles espoused by Savarkar.

Raut further challenged the government’s sincerity by asking, “How can you protect the cow by making the cow the mother of the state?” He called for more tangible support for farmers, particularly regarding milk pricing, rather than symbolic gestures. “Discuss the struggles of farmers for milk prices; they are ongoing. But those whose father is a bull and whose wisdom is that of a bull—what do you expect from them?” he stated.

In a broader critique of the ruling party’s focus, Raut accused Home Minister Amit Shah of prioritizing political appearances over national security, particularly during the ongoing Maharashtra elections. He remarked, “How serious is the Home Minister about the country’s security?” as he questioned Shah’s commitment while he was perceived to be concentrating on party branch activities rather than pressing internal security issues.

Raut’s statements reflect a significant political tension in Maharashtra, as the Shiv Sena continues to voice its opposition to the actions and policies of the Shinde government.
