Raut suggested that Patel’s nomination is an attempt to safeguard him from disqualification, pointing to looming disqualification proceedings against Patel. Partha Pawar, son of Ajit Pawar, was initially touted as a potential nominee, along with Baba Siddiqui, a recent addition to the NCP.
