A fresh political debate has erupted over India’s foreign policy stance after Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut questioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi for not clearly stating India’s position on the ongoing conflict involving the United States, Israel and Iran.
“What Is India’s Role?”
Raut said the situation in West Asia has reached a dangerous turning point and India, being a major global player with a population of over 1.4 billion, cannot afford to remain silent. He questioned why the Prime Minister has not yet expressed a clear opinion on the conflict and asked what is holding the government back.
He raised concerns over the lack of communication from the Centre, asking what India’s role will be in the evolving crisis and what steps the government plans to take next.
Growing Pressure on Government
The remarks come at a time when global tensions are escalating and countries are being forced to take clear diplomatic positions. Raut stressed that India should not appear uncertain on the international stage and must define its stance firmly.
His comments have intensified the political discourse in the country, with opposition leaders demanding more transparency and clarity from the government on foreign policy decisions.
As the West Asia conflict deepens, the question raised by Raut—about India’s role and response—continues to gain attention in political circles.
