Sambhal: The District Judge Court of Sambhal on Thursday issued a notice to Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi, directing him to either respond or appear in court on April 4 over a complaint filed against him regarding his controversial statement that “Our fight is not against BJP or RSS, but against the Indian state.”

Advocate Sachin Goyal, speaking to the media, confirmed that the court had accepted the complaint and issued the summons. He explained that complainant Simran Gupta had initially approached the MP/MLA court seeking an FIR against Gandhi, but the case was dismissed due to jurisdictional issues. Following this, a revision petition was filed, leading the District Judge Court to summon Gandhi.

The case stems from Gandhi’s January 15 speech at the inauguration of ‘Indira Bhawan’, the Congress party’s new headquarters, where he launched a sharp attack on the BJP and RSS, accusing them of capturing every institution in the country. In his speech, he declared that the Congress and other opposition parties were not merely fighting a political battle but were now up against the Indian state itself.

“Our ideology, like the RSS ideology, is thousands of years old, and it has been fighting the RSS ideology for thousands of years. Do not think that we are fighting a fair fight. There is no fairness in this. The BJP and the RSS have captured every single institution of our country. We are now fighting the BJP, the RSS, and the Indian State itself,” Gandhi had said.
