Srinagar: Department of English at the Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Government Arts & Commerce College, (SABV College), Indore on Thursday organised a programme entitled extension lectures with an aim to develop new vistas of literature among Kashmiri students.
The eminent speaker Dr Shyam Samtani former professor and Head, Department of English, Christian College Indore delivered a thorough lecture on ‘Is Hamlet an Artistic Failure?”
Dr Ashok Sachdeva professor of English MJB Government Girls PG college Indore enlightened the audience with his unique style. He delivered the lecture on Romantic poetry with special reference to English poet John Keats. Renowned literary figure of Indore and former English Professor Usha Chandel remained present as chief guest in the programme.
Dr Usha Jain Professor and Head Department of English welcomed all the dignitaries. During her address she said that due to Covid-19 pandemic since last two years, although offline mode of teaching had come to a standstill across the globe “now as the things are back to normal, need of the hour is to organise such programmes often for the betterment of students”.
She impressed upon students to take part in such programmes for the development of their intellect. Later, she delivered a vote of thanks and promised to hold such programmes in future also. A good number of students, research scholars, professors from different colleges of Indore participated in the programme.
