Satna: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat on Sunday reiterated the call for reclaiming Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) during the inauguration of the Sindhi Camp Gurudwara in Satna, Madhya Pradesh. Comparing India to a house, Bhagwat said that if a room has been occupied by a stranger, it must be reclaimed — a reference to PoK.
Bhagwat’s remarks were met with thunderous applause from the audience. “Many Sindhi brothers are sitting here. I am very happy. They did not go to Pakistan; they went to undivided India… Circumstances have sent us here from that home because that home and this home are not different,” he said, as quoted by ANI. “The whole of India is one home, but someone has removed the one room of our house where my table, chair, and clothes used to be kept. They have occupied it. Tomorrow, I have to take it back and hence we have to remember that undivided India.”
Bhagwat’s statement comes amid recent violent protests in PoK, which resulted in the death of 12 people and injuries to several others. The demonstrations were led by the Jammu Kashmir Joint Awami Action Committee (JKJAAC), protesting alleged atrocities by the Pakistani government and army. The protests exposed Pakistan’s disconnect with PoK residents and highlighted several of Islamabad’s claims as false.
In response, the Pakistani government signed a 25-point agreement with the JKJAAC on Saturday, shared publicly by Pakistan Parliamentary Affairs Minister Tariq Fazal Chaudhry on his X account. The agreement includes compensation for victims of violence and the establishment of two additional intermediate and secondary educational boards for the Muzaffarabad and Poonch divisions.
Bhagwat’s remarks at the Sindhi Camp Gurudwara emphasized the strategic and emotional importance of PoK for India and resonated strongly with the Sindhi community, many of whom migrated to India during partition. The event underlined continuing public interest and political discourse regarding India’s territorial integrity and the status of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
