Rs 15.70 Lakh Crore Investment Through 54 MoUs, Historic Achievement at Davos, Maharashtra Secures Record-Breaking MoUs

Major Deals with Reliance, Amazon; 15.95 Lakh Jobs to Be Created

Davos: In a historic accomplishment at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Maharashtra, under the leadership of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, signed 54 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) amounting to a total investment of ₹15.70 lakh crore by the second day. These investments are expected to generate 15.95 lakh jobs.

The largest investment deal comes from the Reliance Group, which will invest ₹3,05,000 crore in sectors such as petrochemicals, polyester, renewable energy, bioenergy, green hydrogen, green chemicals, industrial development, retail, data centers, telecommunications, hospitality, and real estate. This single MoU is expected to generate around 3 lakh jobs. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis stated that most of this investment would focus on the services sector, creating significant employment opportunities. Reliance Group’s Anant Ambani said this initiative contributes to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of building a “New India” and aligns with Maharashtra’s ambition of becoming the first $1 trillion economy state.

Amazon is the second-largest investor, with a proposed ₹71,795 crore investment in data centers in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR), expected to generate 83,100 jobs.

The deals signed in the past two days ensure balanced development across the state by bringing investments to all regions. The state’s industries department signed MoUs worth ₹11.71 lakh crore, while MMRDA and CIDCO secured investments of ₹3.44 lakh crore and ₹55,200 crore, respectively.
