New Delhi: In a significant development, Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court issued a notice to Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, and other proposed accused in the National Herald money laundering case. The court set the next hearing date for May 8, 2025, affirming the right of the accused to be heard during the cognizance of the chargesheet.

The court stressed that the right to be heard at any stage of the proceedings is a fundamental aspect of ensuring a fair trial. This reinforces the necessity of issuing notices to the involved parties, as stated by the court.

The Enforcement Directorate had filed the chargesheet in connection with the National Herald case, in which both Sonia and Rahul Gandhi, along with others, are accused of money laundering activities.
