Mumbai: Weeks after the tragic death of senior NCP leader Ajit Pawar in a plane crash near Baramati, his nephew and NCP (Sharad Pawar faction) leader, Rohit Pawar, has publicly raised serious questions about the circumstances of the accident. He announced that he will hold a press conference today in Mumbai at 4 pm at the Yashwantrao Chavan Centre to provide detailed information on what happened and why.

Rohit Pawar said that several aspects of the crash remain unclear and have caused suspicion among family members and the public. He described his upcoming presentation as “important and eye-opening” and promised to explain how the accident may have occurred and why it happened. In a social media post, Rohit Pawar wrote that the tragic death of Ajit Pawar has left many questions in the minds of people across Maharashtra and that today he would clarify the facts.

Ajit Pawar, who was the Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra and NCP president, died on January 28 when the aircraft he was traveling in crashed near Baramati. He was on his way to campaign for local body elections when the accident took place, sending shockwaves through the state’s political circles. Following his death, the state government declared official mourning and postponed the polling date from February 5 to February 7.

After Ajit Pawar’s sudden demise, his wife, Sunetra Pawar, took over as Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra, assuming the responsibilities previously held by her husband.

Rohit Pawar had earlier hinted at addressing the crash publicly on February 7, after casting his vote during district council elections in Baramati. At that time, he said there was widespread suspicion about the circumstances of Ajit Pawar’s death and stressed that efforts to unify the NCP factions, a cause close to Ajit Pawar’s heart, would continue.
