New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Thursday launched a sharp attack on the previous governments of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Congress, accusing them of allowing the iconic U-Special bus service for university students to remain suspended for years.
Speaking at an event in the capital, Gupta said, “For years, the U-Special service had remained suspended, neglected by both the previous Aam Aadmi Party and Congress governments. I am glad that the BJP government, elected by the people, has restored it during its short tenure, bringing life back to Delhi University.”
The U-Special buses have historically been a crucial service for students commuting to and from Delhi University’s North and South campuses. Gupta emphasized that reviving this service was not just a matter of transportation but also a commitment to student welfare.
She further added, “Through U-Special, students can now travel from home to university and back with safety, convenience, and reliability. The service ensures that education is not hindered by travel difficulties.”
