Bollywood storm erupts over Ranveer Singh’s Don 3 exit
The controversy surrounding Ranveer Singh’s reported exit from Farhan Akhtar’s much-awaited film Don 3 has intensified dramatically, with the issue now turning into one of Bollywood’s biggest industry flashpoints.
The row escalated after the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) issued a non-cooperation directive against Ranveer following a complaint allegedly filed by Farhan Akhtar. According to reports, the production team claimed the actor’s departure from the project caused financial losses estimated at nearly ₹45 crore.
The complaint reportedly dates back to April, when concerns over the film’s future and production delays first surfaced within industry circles.
Padmini Kolhapure publicly supports Ranveer Singh
Amid the growing controversy, veteran actress and CINTAA Vice-President Padmini Kolhapure came out strongly in support of Ranveer Singh.
Speaking publicly on the issue, Padmini said the association stands firmly with the actor despite the ongoing dispute.
“CINTAA is proud to have Ranveer Singh as our member. We stand by him and for him whenever he needs us,” she said, while avoiding further comments on the matter.
Her statement has triggered fresh debate within the entertainment industry, with many seeing it as a sign of growing division between artist bodies and film worker unions over the issue.
Ranveer breaks silence through spokesperson
While Ranveer Singh himself has remained silent publicly, his official spokesperson released a statement defending the actor’s conduct during the controversy.
The statement said Ranveer continues to hold “the highest regard” for the film fraternity and everyone associated with the Don franchise.
“Throughout the recent developments surrounding Don 3, he has consciously chosen to maintain silence, believing that professional discussions and personal equations are best handled with dignity, maturity and mutual respect,” the spokesperson stated.
So far, neither Ranveer Singh nor Farhan Akhtar has directly spoken in detail about the reported fallout.
Don franchise controversy grabs Bollywood attention
The Don franchise remains one of Bollywood’s biggest action-thriller brands. Earlier films starring Shah Rukh Khan became massive commercial successes and developed a cult fan following over the years.
The announcement of Ranveer Singh stepping into the iconic Don role had already sparked heated reactions online, dividing fans between supporters of Shah Rukh Khan and those excited about a new chapter in the franchise.
Now, the latest controversy has added another dramatic twist to the film’s future, with speculation growing over whether the project will move ahead with a new lead actor or face further delays.
Industry insiders believe the dispute could become a major talking point in Bollywood over contracts, production commitments and artist-management relationships in big-budget films.
