A portion of a platform shed collapsed at Charbagh Railway Station on Friday morning, leaving three people injured and triggering panic among passengers present at the busy railway station.
According to railway officials, the incident took place around 8 am on Platform Number 5 while construction work related to a new Airconcourse project was underway at the station.
Personnel from the Railway Protection Force immediately rushed to the site and rescued the injured individuals from the debris before shifting them for medical treatment.
The injured persons were admitted to a private hospital in the Alambagh area of Lucknow, where doctors are currently monitoring their condition. Railway authorities said a dedicated railway medical team has also been deployed to assist in treatment and coordination.
Senior officials, including the Divisional Railway Manager of Lucknow division, visited the hospital shortly after the incident to review the condition of the injured passengers and assess the situation.
Railway authorities stated that construction work for the Airconcourse facility has been ongoing at the station for the past several weeks. As part of the project, Platform Number 4 has remained blocked for passenger train operations since May 15 and is expected to remain unavailable until June 23, 2026.
