YouTuber and entrepreneur Ranveer Allahbadia has approached the Supreme Court seeking protection against multiple FIRs filed against him for his controversial remarks on the reality show India’s Got Latent. Complaints against him, lodged in multiple states, accuse him of making derogatory comments that have sparked public outrage.

According to news report, advocate Abhinav Chandrachud mentioned the matter before the Supreme Court on Friday (February 14), highlighting that the Assam Police have summoned Ranveer on the same day. The court, however, stated that a date has already been given for the case.

The controversy erupted after Ranveer appeared as a guest on India’s Got Latent, hosted by Samay Raina. During the episode, he posed a highly controversial question to a contestant:

“Would you rather watch your parents have sex for the rest of your life – or would you join in once and stop it forever?”

The remark triggered massive backlash online, with netizens slamming the show for promoting vulgarity. This led to multiple complaints being filed against Ranveer, Samay Raina, and others involved in the show.

In response to the controversy, Ranveer issued an apology, admitting there was a “lapse in judgment” on his part and that comedy is not his forte. Meanwhile, Samay Raina announced that he had deleted all episodes of India’s Got Latent from his YouTube channel.

As the legal battle unfolds, all eyes are on the Supreme Court’s decision regarding Ranveer’s plea for protection.
