Ramgarh Celebrates National Sports Day Honouring Major Dhyan Chand with Grand Event

Ramgarh: Nations Development Association (NDA), affiliated with MY Bharat, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India, successfully organized the National Sports Day celebration in Ramgarh under the guidance of Hon’ble MLA Ramgarh and Former Minister for Health & Medical Education, J&K, Dr. Devinder Kumar Manyal.

The event was graced by the presence of DDC Member Ramgarh, Smt. Antia Choudhary, Assistant Commandant Suresh Kumar (Tanot Warriors, 13th Battalion Border Security Force), and Assistant Commandant BSF Akhilesh Kumar.

Presiding over the program, Mr. Sushil Singh Charak, Chief Functionary of NDA, highlighted the importance of sports in fostering discipline, unity, and national pride. He also paid tribute to Major Dhyan Chand – famously known as “The Wizard of Hockey.”

A key highlight of the celebration was the distribution of certificates to the sportsmen of Tanot Warriors, 13th Battalion BSF, and Village Nanga Sports Club, recognizing their outstanding contributions and dedication to promoting sports and fitness in the region.

Special guests included Sh. Prem Paul Choudhary (Former Sarpanch), Sh. Anil Gupta (Former Vice Chairman, Municipal Committee Ramgarh), Ms. Nancy Choudhary (President Ramgarh), Sh. Sandeep Gupta, Sh. Tilak, Sh. Amrik Singh, and Sh. Gurdail, whose presence encouraged and motivated the participants.

The organizers expressed their gratitude to the Tanot Warriors, 13th Battalion BSF, for their logistical and local support, and to Sh. Gurdial Rana, Managing Director of Sorriso Pizza & Meal Mastiyaan, Ramgarh, for his valuable contribution towards the program’s success.

The celebration served as a tribute to Major Dhyan Chand’s legacy, inspiring youth with the values of fitness, sportsmanship, and dedication.
