New Delhi: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will visit Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, to participate in the 12th ASEAN Defence Ministers’ Meeting – Plus (ADMM-Plus) on November 1, 2025, the Ministry of Defence announced on Tuesday.

During the conference, Singh will deliver an address on “Reflection on 15 Years of ADMM-Plus and Charting the Way Forward,” highlighting India’s perspective on regional peace, maritime cooperation, and shared security challenges in the Indo-Pacific region.

The ADMM-Plus brings together defence ministers from the 10 ASEAN member countries and eight key dialogue partners — India, China, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, South Korea, Russia, and the United States — to discuss collaborative strategies for peace and stability in the Asia-Pacific.

On the sidelines of the main event, the second edition of the ASEAN-India Defence Ministers’ Informal Meeting will be held on October 31, chaired by Malaysia. The meeting will see participation from all ASEAN Defence Ministers alongside India’s delegation.

According to the Ministry of Defence, the informal dialogue will focus on enhancing defence and security cooperation, expanding joint training, maritime awareness, and defence industry collaboration, and furthering India’s ‘Act East Policy’.

Officials said the visit underscores India’s growing engagement with the ASEAN bloc as part of its strategic outreach in the Indo-Pacific. The discussions are expected to reinforce India’s commitment to freedom of navigation, rule-based order, and regional stability.
