Jaipur: In a sweeping crackdown under its ongoing campaign against illegal foreign nationals, the Rajasthan government has identified over 900 Bangladeshi and Rohingya immigrants residing in the state using forged documents. These individuals, including women and children, were found spread across multiple districts and have now been detained in 24 detention centers, officials confirmed.

According to state authorities, the identified group includes 341 children, 284 women, and 376 men. While many of the women were found employed as domestic workers, the men were reportedly working as scrap dealers, construction laborers, garbage pickers, and mine workers. Alarmingly, criminal records have surfaced for some of those detained, raising security concerns.

Districts with the highest concentration of such individuals include Sikar, Jaipur, Alwar, Kotputli, and Bhiwadi. Officials said the state government has already deported 148 such illegal immigrants on May 15, and the remainder are set to be transported to West Bengal, from where the central government will oversee their repatriation to their countries of origin.

The campaign, launched on April 30 shortly after the Pahalgam terrorist attack, aims to tighten internal security by identifying and removing illegal foreign nationals staying in India without valid documentation.
