Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi on Friday launched a scathing attack on the Narendra Modi-led NDA government, accusing it of undermining Dalit rights by leaving key posts in the National Commission for Scheduled Castes (NCSC) vacant. Taking to social media, the Congress leader claimed that the government’s failure to fill these vacancies was a deliberate move that exposed the BJP’s alleged “anti-Dalit mindset.”
“Look at another proof of the BJP government’s anti-Dalit mindset! The National Commission for Scheduled Castes, which is meant to safeguard Dalit rights, has been deliberately neglected—two crucial posts have been lying vacant for the past year,” Gandhi wrote in Hindi on X. He further emphasized that the NCSC is a constitutional body, and weakening it is a direct attack on the constitutional and social rights of Dalits. Gandhi demanded that the government immediately fill the vacancies to ensure the commission continues its crucial work.
