Raebareli: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Thursday launched a scathing attack on the BJP government, accusing it of diverting public attention from real issues while favoring capitalists.

Gandhi, who is on a two-day visit to his Parliamentary constituency, began his tour by offering prayers at the Hanuman temple on the Churuva border. Following this, he proceeded to Bachhrawan, where he addressed a party workers’ conference, urging Congress members to strengthen their presence at the booth level.

“In the last few years, inflation has skyrocketed, but instead of addressing public grievances, the BJP government is focused on promoting capitalists,” Gandhi alleged.

Meanwhile, controversy erupted as several BJP workers claimed they were placed under “house arrest” during Gandhi’s visit.

BJP mandal president Pravesh Verma alleged, “Along with 25 workers, we have been confined to the Nagar Panchayat office. As an MP, it is Rahul Gandhi’s duty to listen to the people’s problems and resolve them. However, he is not paying attention to the public.”
