New Delhi: Senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi launched a scathing attack on Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and his deputy Manish Sisodia during a rally in Patparganj ahead of the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections.
Gandhi took aim at Kejriwal’s humble image, referencing the small blue Wagon R that Kejriwal used as his primary vehicle when he first became Delhi’s chief minister. “Arvind Kejriwal said he would do different politics, came in a small car, but lived in Sheesh Mahal,” Gandhi said, referring to the BJP’s claims that Kejriwal lavishly spent public funds on refurbishing his official residence, which had been dubbed the “Sheesh Mahal” by critics.
The Congress leader further accused Kejriwal of abandoning his responsibilities during times of crisis. “When Delhi faced violence, when the poor needed him, Arvind Kejriwal was nowhere to be seen,” Gandhi said, suggesting that the AAP leader had failed to stand up for the people of Delhi during critical moments.
Rahul Gandhi also attacked both Kejriwal and Sisodia over their involvement in the Delhi excise policy case, which led to their arrest. He made a sharp reference to their incarceration, further criticizing their leadership.
The rally in Patparganj saw Rahul Gandhi take a firm stance against the AAP government, as Congress gears up for the upcoming Delhi elections, emphasizing his party’s commitment to effective governance and public welfare.
