Rahul Gandhi Escalates Attack on Modi Government
Congress leader and Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi launched a fierce political attack on the Narendra Modi-led government during his visit to Uttar Pradesh’s Raebareli, accusing the BJP and RSS of weakening India’s economy and damaging constitutional values.
Addressing party workers and supporters, Rahul Gandhi alleged that the country was heading towards a major economic crisis that would heavily impact farmers, labourers, youth and small traders.
‘Economic Storm Is Coming’
Rahul Gandhi warned that the country could soon witness a severe economic downturn driven by inflation and rising prices of essential commodities. He claimed that ordinary citizens would suffer the most while powerful corporate groups would remain protected.
According to the Congress MP, fuel prices, cooking gas rates and the cost of daily essentials could increase sharply in the coming months. He accused the government of failing to control inflation despite earlier assurances that petrol and diesel prices would remain stable.
Attack on BJP, RSS and Corporate Influence
In one of his sharpest remarks, Rahul Gandhi accused the BJP and RSS of “selling India” and “attacking the Constitution.” He urged Congress workers to politically challenge what he described as attempts to weaken democratic institutions and economic equality.
The Rae Bareli MP also renewed his criticism of industrialists Mukesh Ambani and Gautam Adani, alleging that the government had reshaped the country’s economic structure to favour a handful of corporate groups.
Swipe at PM Modi Over Public Appeals
Rahul Gandhi also took a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi over remarks linked to electric vehicles, gold purchases and foreign travel. He questioned the government’s priorities, saying the real issues facing the public were unemployment, inflation and economic insecurity.
He claimed the Centre was ignoring the struggles of farmers, workers and small business owners while focusing on publicity-driven campaigns.
Congress Sharpens Economic Narrative
The Congress leader’s remarks are being viewed as part of the party’s broader strategy to intensify its campaign around inflation, unemployment and economic distress ahead of upcoming political contests.
The BJP has consistently dismissed Rahul Gandhi’s allegations, accusing the Congress of spreading fear and misleading the public for political gains.
