New Delhi: BJP IT cell chief Amit Malviya on Thursday launched a scathing attack on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, alleging that the Lok Sabha MP had aligned with global networks working to undermine India’s interests. Malviya’s remarks came in response to former US President Donald Trump’s explosive claim that the Biden administration had interfered in India’s elections.
“Why do we need to spend $21 million on voter turnout in India? I guess they were trying to get somebody else elected. We have got to tell the Indian Government… This is a total breakthrough,” Trump said at the FII PRIORITY Summit in Miami on Thursday.
Quoting Trump’s claim, Malviya accused Rahul Gandhi of seeking foreign intervention in India’s affairs ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. He shared a video of Gandhi’s 2023 interaction with the Indian Journalists’ Association in London, stating, “In March 2023, ahead of the elections, Rahul Gandhi was in London urging foreign powers—from the US to Europe—to intervene in India’s internal affairs.”
Malviya further alleged that Gandhi had positioned himself as a tool for foreign agencies, adding, “Now, former US President Donald Trump has confirmed that there was indeed an attempt to influence the Indian election and install someone other than Prime Minister Modi.”
