Srinagar: Acting on a tip-off the local police party of PP Bazar area established Naka Bandi at Geerhachi. During naka checking three persons were apprehended by the naka party. On search of their person, 14 bottles of illegal liquor and 12 cans of illegal beer were recovered from their possession.
Upon preliminary verification the apprehended persons disclosed their identity as – Zamir Ahmad Khan, S/o Zafferul Khan R/o Mudden Keren, Safeer Ahmad Khatana, s/o Jlal-ud-din Khatana R/o Juma Jund, Kupwara and Munner Ahmad Khan, s/o Mohammad Hussain Khan, R/o Zuharama.
A case FIR U/S 50.A. of the Excise Act has been registered at police station Kupwara and investigation has been taken up.
