Vadodara: Prime Minister Narendra Modi was greeted with a wave of patriotic fervour on Monday as he held a vibrant roadshow in Gujarat’s Vadodara during his two-day visit to the state. The Prime Minister, flanked by tight security, waved to thousands of enthusiastic supporters, who returned the gesture with tricolours in hand and chants of national pride ringing through the streets.

The atmosphere turned festive as flower petals rained down on the Prime Minister while songs celebrating the spirit of the nation played in the background, creating a powerful blend of emotion and nationalism.

A poignant moment in the roadshow was the presence of the family members of Colonel Sofiya Qureshi, an Indian Army officer who was part of the media briefings during Operation Sindoor. They showered flower petals on the Prime Minister, symbolising the collective respect and solidarity towards the armed forces and the leadership.

During his visit from May 26 to 27, PM Modi is scheduled to inaugurate and lay the foundation stones of numerous developmental projects aimed at enhancing Gujarat’s infrastructure and economic capacity.

What made the event even more noteworthy was the global solidarity expressed. A student from Zimbabwe, currently studying in Gujarat and attending the roadshow, expressed support for India’s strong stance against terrorism. “We stand with India in the fight against terrorism. When they (terrorists) attacked tourists, India attacked the terrorist bases and not the civilians. We support India,” the student told ANI.

Another attendee, Deepa, a young student, highlighted the humanitarian aspect of India’s recent military operation. “We are very happy that PM Modi came to meet civilians. We are happy to cheer for Operation Sindoor. India has not targeted civilians in Pakistan. We stand for humanity. We stand against terrorism,” she said, as quoted.
