Chennai: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday released the 21st instalment of the PM-KISAN Samman Nidhi, marking another major push toward supporting farmers across India. The announcement came shortly after he inaugurated the South India Natural Farming Summit 2025 in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu.
With this instalment, the Centre has transferred over ₹18,000 crore directly into the bank accounts of more than nine crore farmers. Under the PM-KISAN scheme—launched on February 24, 2019—eligible farmer families receive ₹6,000 annually in three equal instalments to support their agricultural and household needs.
As per official data, the government has so far disbursed over ₹3.70 lakh crore to 11 crore farmer families since the scheme’s launch. The funds have enabled beneficiaries to purchase essential farm inputs and meet expenses related to education, healthcare, and family responsibilities.
Only farmers whose land records are verified on the PM-KISAN portal, and whose Aadhaar-seeded bank accounts are active, are eligible to receive the benefits.
Following the release of the latest instalment, farmers can check whether the amount has been credited by visiting the official PM-KISAN website.
To verify their instalment status, beneficiaries must:
- Visit pmkisan.gov.in
- Use the search option and select Aadhaar number, bank account number, or registered mobile number
- Enter the selected details along with the captcha code
- Click “Get Data” to view beneficiary information, including farmer name, location, Aadhaar verification status, and payment details
