’10 Steps, 10 Strengths’: BJP Highlights Strategic Gains From PM Modi’s July Foreign Visits

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday outlined what it described as the major achievements of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent diplomatic engagements, asserting that his visits to several countries have strengthened India’s global standing across strategic, economic and security sectors.

Addressing a press conference, BJP MP and national spokesperson Sambit Patra said the Prime Minister’s engagements with leaders from the Indo-Pacific region had delivered tangible benefits for India. Referring to the outcomes as “10 Steps, 10 Strengths,” Patra said the visits reflected India’s expanding influence and growing role in international affairs.

According to the BJP leader, the diplomatic outreach focused on reinforcing partnerships in the Indian Ocean and Indo-Pacific, boosting defence and maritime cooperation, securing access to critical minerals, enhancing energy security and encouraging greater trade and investment opportunities.

Patra also highlighted agreements in areas such as digital public infrastructure, education, sports collaboration and cultural exchanges, saying these initiatives would deepen long-term cooperation between India and partner nations. He added that stronger people-to-people ties and diplomatic goodwill were among the key outcomes of the visits.

Speaking on India’s political landscape, Patra said the continuity of leadership under Prime Minister Modi had projected an image of stability before the international community.

“Much has changed globally since 2014, but India has had the same Prime Minister and the same government, continuing to work consistently. This shows the world what stability looks like,” Patra said.

The BJP spokesperson further claimed that Australia’s decision to expand uranium cooperation with India reflected the growing trust between the two countries and underscored the progress made in bilateral relations during the Modi government’s tenure.

Patra also referred to the Prime Minister’s recent visit to New Zealand, where India and New Zealand signed agreements covering trade, tourism and counter-terrorism cooperation. During his address to the Indian diaspora in Auckland, Prime Minister Modi described the relationship between the two countries as one rooted in shared democratic values and mutual respect.

Drawing from New Zealand’s cultural traditions, Modi used the Maori concept of “Waka” as a metaphor for the partnership between the two nations, saying it symbolises a shared journey towards stronger cooperation and a more prosperous future.

The BJP maintained that the series of high-level visits demonstrated India’s increasing diplomatic engagement with key global partners while opening new avenues for strategic and economic collaboration.
