PM Modi Inaugurates Asia’s Second-Largest ISKCON Temple in Navi Mumbai

Mumbai: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday, January 15, inaugurated the Sri Sri Radha Madanmohanji Temple of ISKCON in Kharghar, Navi Mumbai, making it Asia’s second-largest ISKCON temple. The ceremony was attended by Maharashtra Governor CP Radhakrishnan, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, and BJP MP Hema Malini.

During the event, PM Modi offered prayers at the temple and emphasized the significance of ISKCON’s contribution to India’s spiritual heritage. He remarked that the temple reflects the rich tradition of spirituality and knowledge in the country. He also announced the inclusion of a museum at the temple dedicated to the Ramayana and Mahabharata, aimed at attracting the younger generation.

PM Modi lauded ISKCON’s role in fostering development through heritage and highlighted the synergy between India’s growth and its cultural heritage. He stated that institutions like ISKCON serve as centers of social consciousness, inspiring the youth to work for the nation with dedication and service. The temple complex will also house the Bhakti Vedanta Ayurvedic Healing Center, aligning with the Prime Minister’s vision of “Heal in India” for promoting healthcare and overall well-being.

Earlier in the day, PM Modi commissioned three state-of-the-art naval combat vessels—INS Surat, INS Nilgiri, and INS Vaghsheer—at the Naval Dockyard. This simultaneous commissioning marked a milestone in India’s naval history, showcasing indigenous advancements in defense technology.
