New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, addressing the Parliament at the commencement of the Monsoon Session, declared it a “celebration of victory” and a testament to India’s growing strength on multiple fronts — military, economic, and internal security.
Opening his speech with strong remarks on national security, PM Modi praised the Indian Army for its precision and power in Operation Sindoor, a military campaign that, according to him, “razed the homes of terrorist masterminds to the ground within just 22 minutes.” He described the operation as a new symbol of India’s evolving military might and technological edge. “The world is increasingly drawn to our Made in India weapons. Wherever I go, global leaders express admiration for our indigenous defence capabilities,” Modi said.
On the economy, the Prime Minister drew a stark contrast between the current situation and the pre-2014 era. “Back then, India was known as part of the ‘Fragile Five’. Today, we are among the fastest-growing economies and are soon to become the third-largest economy in the world,” he stated confidently. He further noted that over 25 crore people have been lifted out of poverty, a transformation being recognised globally.
PM Modi also highlighted India’s success in tackling inflation and improving the lives of ordinary citizens. “There was a time when inflation was in double digits. Today, it hovers around 2%, bringing significant relief to the common man,” he said.
Turning attention to internal security, he commended India’s fight against Naxalism. “Our security forces are operating with renewed self-confidence. Several districts once gripped by red terror have now become green growth zones. This is a victory for the Indian Constitution and democracy,” he added.
