“Bengal Wants Change”: PM Modi Targets TMC, Vows Action on Infiltration, Violence and Corruption

Addressing a massive rally in Purba Bardhaman, Prime Minister Narendra Modi sharpened his attack on the Trinamool Congress, asserting that the political mood in the state is shifting and promising decisive action on infiltration, corruption, and violence if the Bharatiya Janata Party comes to power.

“Bengal Wants Change,” Says Modi

Referring to the growing support for the BJP, Modi claimed that the ruling party is under pressure. He said, “The Trinamool Congress is in panic mode because of the support the BJP is receiving in West Bengal.” He added that the public sentiment visible at rallies reflects a desire for change and stronger governance.

Strong Warning on Infiltration

Taking a firm stand on the issue of illegal infiltration, Modi said, “We will expel all infiltrators from West Bengal.”
He further warned that those who enabled such activities would also face consequences, stating, “Action will also be taken against those who supported infiltrators and helped them settle here.” Highlighting the global context, he noted that even developed countries are taking strict measures against illegal infiltration.

White Paper and Probe into Violence

In a major announcement, Modi said the BJP would bring accountability through institutional measures. He stated, “The BJP will release a White Paper regarding corruption and law and order so that every TMC goon, syndicate, and corrupt MLA or minister can be held fully accountable under the law.” He also announced the formation of an inquiry commission led by a retired Supreme Court judge to investigate political violence in the state.

Welfare Schemes to Continue, Corruption to End

Seeking to reassure voters, Modi clarified that welfare initiatives would not be discontinued. He said the BJP would continue schemes launched by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee but would eliminate corruption and misuse of funds. He added that the Ayushman Bharat health scheme would be implemented in West Bengal in the first cabinet meeting if the BJP forms the government.

Targeting ‘Syndicate System’ and Criminal Networks

Criticising the alleged syndicate system, Modi said, “In place of the ‘Syndicate’ system, a transparent tender process will be established for every undertaking.” He also pointed to internal conflicts over resources, adding that strict action would be taken against criminal activities, including illegal sand mining and related incidents.
