“Even Gujarat Can’t Match This Crowd”: PM Modi Praises Bengal Rally, Pushes BJP Manifesto

Addressing a high-energy rally in Purba Bardhaman, West Bengal, Prime Minister Narendra Modi intensified the Bharatiya Janata Party’s campaign, praising the party’s newly released manifesto and calling for a decisive political shift in the state.

I congratulate all my colleagues in the Bengal BJP for this excellent manifesto…” His remarks positioned the manifesto as a comprehensive plan aimed at governance reforms and development in West Bengal.

‘Paltano Dorkar’: Modi’s Call for Change

In a direct appeal to the crowd, Modi invoked the slogan “Paltano dorkar” (change is needed), urging supporters to echo the call. He said, “The enthusiasm and passion I am seeing in you will surely ensure victory. Repeat with me: ‘Paltano dorkar’…” The slogan quickly resonated with the gathering, underlining the BJP’s push for political change in the state.

High Voter Turnout Across States

Referring to the broader electoral landscape, Modi noted that elections are also being held in multiple states simultaneously. He said, “Along with West Bengal, elections are also being held in four other states. Voting has already taken place in Assam, Kerala, and Puducherry. There has been a high voter turnout, and a large number of people have come out to vote. A significant number of women have also participated in voting….” His comments highlighted strong voter engagement, particularly among women, which could play a decisive role in the outcome.

Massive Crowds Mark Bengal Campaign

The Prime Minister also praised the scale of public participation in his rallies across West Bengal, drawing comparisons with his home state. He said, “Wherever I have gone in Bengal, you have broken the record of the previous rally. I want to tell you one truth, my experience. I have spent my life in Gujarat, but if I had to hold a public meeting at 11–12 o’clock in Gujarat, I could not have gathered such a crowd. You have done a remarkable job here…” The remarks reflect the BJP’s confidence as it seeks to expand its footprint in West Bengal, with the party banking on large crowds and high voter turnout to translate into electoral gains.
