PM Modi Begins 3-State Visit with Major Infra Push in Bihar, Odisha; To Lead Yoga Day Celebrations in Visakhapatnam

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to embark on a high-impact two-day visit beginning Friday, covering Bihar, Odisha, and Andhra Pradesh, with a mix of infrastructure launches, social welfare rollouts, and symbolic cultural events — all ahead of key electoral and national milestones.

The tour will kick off in Siwan, Bihar, where PM Modi is scheduled to inaugurate the Vaishali–Deoria railway line, a Rs 400-crore project aimed at enhancing regional connectivity. He will also flag off a new Vande Bharat Express service between Patliputra and Gorakhpur, a move expected to reduce travel time and boost passenger comfort across North Bihar and Eastern UP.

Underlining India’s manufacturing and export potential, the Prime Minister will also commission the first export-ready locomotive built at the Marhowra rail engine plant, destined for the African nation of Guinea, reinforcing the ‘Make in India, Make for the World’ vision.

PM Modi will further expand his focus on environmental and civic infrastructure by launching six new sewage treatment plants worth over ₹1,800 crore under the Namami Gange Mission, aiming to revitalize the Ganga basin and improve sanitation in adjoining areas.

In a significant welfare outreach, he will release the first installment of the PM Awas Yojana (Urban) for over 53,600 beneficiaries, and also conduct a symbolic Grih Pravesh ceremony for 6,600 completed houses. Projects related to drinking water, electrification, and housing will also be unveiled.

The Bihar leg is being closely watched as it comes just months before the 2025 Assembly elections, where the BJP-JD(U) alliance faces a resurgent INDIA bloc led by RJD.

In the second phase of the visit, the Prime Minister will head to Bhubaneswar, Odisha, where he will launch development projects worth ₹18,600 crore. These include critical upgrades in agriculture, health, roads, irrigation, and urban mobility.

A historic moment will unfold in Boudh district, where PM Modi will flag off the first-ever train service — connecting the remote region to the national railway grid for the very first time. He will also inaugurate 100 electric buses under the Capital Region Urban Transport (CRUT) project, advancing the state’s green transport mission.

The PM will also unveil the Odisha Vision Document, a forward-looking roadmap aligned with India’s 2047 centenary of independence and Odisha’s 100th anniversary as the first linguistic state in 2036. During the Bhubaneswar event, women achievers from the state will be felicitated, recognizing grassroots leadership and empowerment.

On June 21, PM Modi will head to Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, to lead the 11th International Day of Yoga celebrations from the city’s scenic beachfront. The event is expected to draw over five lakh participants and will synchronize with 3.5 lakh yoga sessions across India.

This year’s theme, “Yoga for One Earth, One Health”, reinforces the message of holistic well-being and environmental harmony. The Prime Minister will participate in a mass yoga session following the Common Yoga Protocol, reaffirming India’s commitment to health and wellness as global priorities.

Since the UN adopted India’s proposal to mark June 21 as the International Day of Yoga in 2015, PM Modi has led the annual celebrations from cities across India and abroad, including New York, Delhi, Srinagar, Mysuru, and Lucknow.
