Jagan Reddy Slams Chandrababu Naidu’s Governance: Alleges Repression, Betrayal of Promises, and Growing Public Anger

Tadepalli: Former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and YSRCP chief Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy launched a fierce attack on the incumbent Chandrababu Naidu-led TDP government, accusing it of authoritarian behavior, betrayal of public trust, and failure to deliver on key promises even after a year in office.

Addressing the media from Tadepalli on Thursday, Jagan warned that “fear of political failure” is driving Naidu’s administration to resort to repressive tactics, misuse police machinery, and target YSRCP leaders with fabricated cases.

“Chandrababu is acting like a dictator — suppressing voices of dissent, misusing the police to build false cases, and intimidating YSRCP leaders,” Jagan said. “But the public is watching. Their response to our recent Betrayal Day campaign is proof of the rising anti-incumbency.”

Jagan highlighted that none of Naidu’s flagship “Super Six” promises — including schemes for women, youth, and farmers — had been implemented. He alleged that schemes like Stri Nidhi, Talliki Vandanam, Deepam, and free bus travel for women had seen no progress, despite being major election pledges.

On law and order, Jagan alleged that atrocities against women were rising and that authorities often acted only after incidents trended on social media. He cited an incident from Naidu’s own constituency, Kuppam, where action was taken only after a viral backlash.

Referring to recent events, Jagan said his visits to Sattenapalli and Podili were met with police clampdowns resembling curfews. “This government is scared of crowds. In Podili, despite TDP supporters attempting disruption, it was our farmers who were targeted with FIRs. None of the miscreants faced any police action,” he alleged.

He further claimed that YSRCP leaders like Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy, Vallabhaneni Vamsi, and Dhanunjaya Reddy were jailed under fabricated charges, with confessions extracted under duress. Citing one case involving Kommineni Srinivasa Rao, Jagan said even the Supreme Court had to intervene and grant bail, recognizing the misuse of power.

Jagan also accused the Naidu government of selective justice in a liquor scam and questioned why no action was taken against TDP workers allegedly involved in vandalizing Sakshi media properties.

On the agrarian crisis, he painted a bleak picture, stating that farmers are forced to sell paddy at a loss of ₹300 per quintal, and five farmer suicides had occurred in the last month alone due to poor procurement and zero support.
