New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, addressing the Rajya Sabha on Thursday, launched a sharp critique of the Congress party, accusing it of mistreating Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, the architect of the Indian Constitution. PM Modi asserted that the Congress’s aversion to the social reformer is well-documented and historically verifiable.

“Whatever Babasaheb said used to antagonize Congress,” PM Modi stated, emphasizing that the party’s hostility toward Ambedkar was evident in its efforts to undermine him. “Congress left no stone unturned to ensure Babasaheb’s defeat in elections… they could not tolerate him and did not consider him fit for the Bharat Ratna,” he added.

The Prime Minister’s remarks came during his reply to the debate on the Motion of Thanks to the President’s Address. He urged the House and the nation to examine historical records, stating, “Everything is backed by documents… it can be authenticated.”

PM Modi’s speech highlighted the ongoing political discourse around the legacy of Dr. Ambedkar and the Congress party’s historical role, further intensifying the ideological battle between the ruling BJP and the opposition Congress.
