Lucknow: Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav sharply criticized the Yogi Adityanath government, accusing it of failing to maintain law and order and neglecting citizens’ safety. Speaking at a press conference at the SP headquarters, Yadav said, “People are living in fear” due to stray animals and wolf attacks in several districts, yet the government has remained “silent and inactive.”

Yadav revealed that the party has compiled a list of victims affected by such incidents, while alleging that the state possesses even more comprehensive records but has failed to provide compensation or support to families. He also criticized the handling of the Gomti River cleaning project, claiming funds were being misused while the river continues to remain polluted.

On economic issues, Yadav highlighted rising gold prices and inflation, stating that these factors have made weddings and celebrations unaffordable for many families. He also mocked the government’s “Swadeshi” campaign, asserting it promotes “fake nationalism” while allowing unchecked imports from China.

Addressing farmers’ concerns, Yadav pointed out fertilizer shortages and stagnant sugarcane prices as clear signs of policy failure. He further alleged discrimination in police investigations and criticized the government for using encounters to create fear instead of ensuring justice.

Concluding his address, Yadav promised that if the Samajwadi Party comes to power, Uttar Pradesh would be free of stray animals, public safety would be strengthened, and government accountability would be ensured.
