Patna: Tension gripped the political atmosphere in Bihar on Wednesday after Independent MP from Purnea, Rajesh Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav, was stopped by the police from visiting the site of the Aras Hospital firing incident in Patna. The fiery leader launched a scathing attack on the state government, demanding President’s Rule and accusing the administration of shielding criminals and mafias.
Speaking to the media after being denied entry, Pappu Yadav said, “…I will request the Governor to impose President’s rule in Bihar… Nurses, doctors, no one is safe in Bihar… These leaders can do politics only on the basis of money…”
He further alleged that the law and order situation has collapsed under Nitish Kumar’s leadership, adding that caste and political favoritism are the only qualifications for criminals to thrive in the state.
“Criminals are selected on the basis of their caste, fake encounters are done. They protect the shooters… There is no such thing as administration in Bihar. They give shelter to mafias…”
Taking a direct dig at Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Yadav claimed he is a mere puppet in the hands of the BJP.
“Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is not running the government. The BJP is running the government…”
The Aras Hospital firing, which triggered widespread panic, has raised serious questions about security in private healthcare institutions and the overall law and order situation in Bihar.
