The chairman of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, rallied supporters on Saturday, declaring that the upcoming general elections on February 8 would be a battleground between the PPP and the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N). Addressing a public meeting in Kot Addu, the former foreign minister emphasized the significance of the ‘arrow’ symbol, urging the people to cast their votes in favor of his party.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari asserted the PPP’s strong belief in the power of the vote, positioning it as a tool for change and empowerment. He criticized other political parties, contending that, apart from the PPP, most represent elite interests that favor the affluent while neglecting the needs of the poor.

The chairman highlighted that a victory for the PPP in the upcoming elections would bring a ‘sigh of relief’ for the average citizen. He portrayed the electoral contest as a face-off between two major players – the PPP and the PML-N. Taking aim at the latter, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari pointedly criticized the PML-N, citing the lack of access to clean drinking water in the NA-127 constituency of Lahore, where he is contesting for office.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari further outlined the PPP’s comprehensive 10-point program, claiming that it holds the key to resolving the country’s political, economic, and security challenges. He asserted, “Pakistan can get rid of inflation and poverty by implementation of our 10-point economic agenda,” as reported by ARY News.

In January, the PPP chairman officially launched his party’s manifesto for the February 8 elections. The manifesto includes ambitious promises such as providing 300 free units of power for every household and the construction of three million residences. The party envisions achieving these goals through initiatives like establishing green energy parks in each district and harnessing solar and wind energy sources.

As the general elections approach, both the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and the PML-N are vying to secure a mandate to form governments at the center. Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s rallying cry positions the PPP as the beacon of change, championing the cause of the common citizen in the upcoming electoral battle.
