Islamabad: Following the hijacking of the Jaffar Express by Baloch rebel groups, Pakistan’s Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General, Lt General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, has issued a stern warning, vowing to hunt down terrorists and their facilitators both within and outside the country.

Addressing a press conference on the crisis, Chaudhry declared, “Terrorists will be dealt with as they deserve. Those who drag innocent people out of buses and slaughter them, who divide people by ethnicity, have no connection to Baloch identity or Islam. We will take them on, their facilitators, their abettors—whether inside Pakistan or outside Pakistan.”

Meanwhile, the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has claimed responsibility for executing 214 hostages, blaming Pakistan’s refusal to negotiate. BLA spokesperson Jeeyand Baloch stated that despite issuing a 48-hour ultimatum for a prisoner exchange, Pakistan ignored the demand, leading to the mass killings.

“The Baloch Liberation Army had given the Pakistani army a 48-hour ultimatum to exchange prisoners of war, which was the last chance for the occupying army to save the lives of its personnel,” the spokesperson said.
