New Delhi: In the aftermath of Operation Sindoor, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta issued a stern warning to Pakistan, stating that the neighbouring country now understands the cost of waging proxy war through terrorism, and should prepare for a stronger retaliation if provocations persist.

“Pakistan has also understood that the crime they have committed, the way they have continuously spread terrorism in India, the government and our army have given a befitting reply to it. If this continues from their side, then perhaps our army will take even bigger steps and they should be ready for that because 140 crore people of the country are ready. The country is united and every person is ready for any struggle…” said Gupta during an interaction with reporters in Delhi.

Her statement comes just days after India carried out a series of precision strikes under Operation Sindoor, targeting terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). The retaliatory mission followed the deadly Pahalgam terror attack, which claimed 26 lives and drew nationwide condemnation.

The Chief Minister praised the Indian armed forces for their swift and bold action. “This is not just a military response; it is the voice of every Indian who stands firmly against terror. Our forces have shown that India will not tolerate bloodshed on its soil.”

She emphasized the growing national unity in the face of external threats and commended the Centre for its decisive leadership. “The people of India are not afraid. We are together, from the villages to the cities, and stand shoulder-to-shoulder with our soldiers.”

Gupta’s remarks echo a broader political consensus following the strikes, with several national leaders urging the international community to hold Pakistan accountable for sponsoring cross-border terrorism.

While Pakistan has dismissed the strikes as “an act of war,” the Indian government has maintained that its action was a measured response aimed solely at dismantling terror networks.
