Government today said a total of four lakh 39 thousand 947 people have recovered from COVID19 so far and the recovery rate has improved to 61.13 per cent in the country. In the past 24 hours alone 15 thousand 514 people have recovered.
The Health and Family Welfare Ministry said a total of 22 thousand 252 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in the country during the last 24 hours taking the total number of cases to seven lakh 19 thousand 665. In a single day, 467 deaths were reported taking the nationwide toll to 20 thousand 160. Presently, the total number of active Corona cases in the country is two lakh 59 thousand 557.
Meanwhile, Indian Council of Medical Research, ICMR said that a total of two lakh 41 thousand 430 tests of Corona virus samples were conducted by various laboratories in the country in the last 24 hours. So far, One crore two lakh 11 thousand 92 tests have been conducted.
ICMR is increasing its testing facilities by giving approval to government and private laboratories. As of now, a total of one thousand one hundred fifteen laboratories across India have been given approval to conduct COVID-19 tests including 793 government laboratories and 322 private laboratory chains.
