Chandigarh: As Punjab reels under a worsening flood crisis, three cabinet ministers of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government have landed in controversy after a video of them casually discussing luxury trips went viral.

In the clip, ministers Barinder Kumar Goyal, Laljit Bhullar, and Harbhajan Singh can be seen sitting on a rescue boat, wearing life jackets, as they chat about their experiences on luxury cruises. One of them is heard recalling a lavish cruise ride in Sweden, while another talks about his trip to Goa—all this while inspecting flood-affected areas.

The opposition Congress wasted no time in slamming the Bhagwant Mann government. Leader of Opposition Pratap Singh Bajwa launched a scathing attack on X (formerly Twitter), writing:“Flood-hit families in Punjab beg for a glass of drinking water, but AAP ministers found time to relive their ‘golden memories’ of luxury cruises in Sweden & Goa. What a relief tour!”

Meanwhile, the flood situation remains grim in at least eight districts—Amritsar, Gurdaspur, Kapurthala, Tarn Taran, Fazilka, Hoshiarpur, Pathankot, and Ferozepur. Rescue and relief operations are underway with teams from the NDRF, SDRF, and Indian Army working round-the-clock to aid stranded families.
