Mumbai: Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Thursday ordered a detailed probe into allegations of a high-value land scam in Pune’s Koregaon Park area, reportedly linked to Parth Pawar, the son of Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar. The Chief Minister said preliminary inputs suggested that some aspects of the deal appear “extremely serious in nature,” and the state government would act strictly if irregularities are confirmed.

Addressing reporters in Mumbai, Fadnavis said, “Our Mahayuti government believes in transparency. I have already directed both the Revenue Department and the Land Records Department to submit a comprehensive report. Once we receive complete details, we will take a clear stance. At first glance, the matter appears extremely serious.”

The Chief Minister emphasized that there will be no tolerance for wrongdoing, regardless of who is involved. “Let me make it clear — no one will be spared if found guilty. If any irregularities are detected, the government will take stringent action without hesitation,” Fadnavis asserted.

The allegations pertain to a multi-crore land transaction in Koregaon Park, reportedly involving a private company linked to Parth Pawar. The property, believed to be government-linked land, was allegedly sold at a significantly undervalued rate. The Inspector General of Registration (IGR) has already submitted an interim report to the Additional Chief Secretary in Mumbai detailing potential lapses in the registration process.

Meanwhile, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar distanced himself from the controversy, denying any personal or familial involvement in the land deal. He reaffirmed his commitment to transparency and accountability in public life.
